چکیده

The paper reports on photoelectrical performance of the mid-wave infrared (MWIR) (111) HgCdTe high operating temperature (HOT) detector for the fast response conditions. Detector structure was simulated with software APSYS by Crosslight Inc. The detailed analysis of the time response as a function of device architecture and applied bias is performed pointing out optimal working conditions.

Fabrication and testing of a MEMS-based optical filter combined with a HgCdTe detector

The Mid-wave infrared (MWIR) spectrum has applications to many fields, from night vision to chemical and biological sensors. Existing broadband detector technology based on HgCdTe allows for high sensitivity and wide range, but lacks the spectral decomposition necessary for many applications. Combining this detector technology with a tunable optical filter has been sought after, but few commerc...

2048x2048 VISIBLE/INFRARED HgCdTe FOCAL PLANE ARRAYS (FPAs)

Rockwell has developed the world’s largest multiplexer for use with infrared HgCdTe and visible silicon detector arrays. The resulting FPAs are to be proposed for the Next Generation Space Telescope (NGST) program, ground-based astronomy, and other low background applications. The 2048x2048 multiplexer’s unit cell size is 18 μm x 18 μm with source follower per detector input (SFD) and 4 and 32 ...

A highly sensitive multi-element HgCdTe e-APD detector for IPDA lidar applications

A HgCdTe e-APD detector has been developed for lidar receivers one application of which is integrated path differential absorption lidar measurements of atmospheric trace gases such as CO2 and CH4. The HgCdTe APD offers a wide, visible to MWIR, spectral response, high dynamic range, substantially improved sensitivity, and an expected improvement in operational lifetime. A demonstration sensor-c...

Infrared Detectors for the Future

In the paper, fundamental and technological issues associated with the development and exploitation of the most advanced infrared detector technologies are discussed. In this class of detectors both photon and thermal detectors are considered. Special attention is directed to HgCdTe ternary alloys on silicon, type-II superlattices, uncooled thermal bolometers, and novel uncooled micromechanical...

eSNR Improvement in Indirect Detection of mid-IR Signals by Wavelength Conversion in SOS Waveguides

With a transparency window up to 6 μm, sapphire can serve as a platform to support silicon photonic integrated circuit in MWIR. Planar waveguide devices based on silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) are emerging as a bridge between MWIR and SWIR through frequency band conversion process. While these devices are widely proposed to amplify MWIR signals and generate MWIR source, it can also be inversely util...
